Generally, most reconstructive surgery is covered by health insurance, as it is considered medically necessary. This type of surgery is done to help someone restore function or obtain what would be considered a normal appearance by correcting deformities. Reasons for deformities can be birth defects, medical conditions such as cancer, or trauma from things such as a car accident. Before making an appointment with our office it is important to note that we do not accept insurance, but do have multiple financing options available.
Types of reconstructive plastic surgeries include breast reconstruction after a lumpectomy or mastectomy from breast cancer, or repairing a cleft lip or palate, helping a burn victim restore their natural appearance, or minimizing a scar from a traumatic event.
Examples of things that reconstructive surgery can address and help to repair include:
